Rajasthan is a vivacious state where both customs and
imperial beauty meet in an uprising of colors next to the gigantic
background of soil and desert. Rajasthan has an extraordinary
assortment in its whole forms like people, civilization,
ethnicity, outfits, harmony, etiquettes, vernaculars, and cuisine.
In bygone days, the occupation of the people decided their caste.
This scheme has now been broken down. Nowadays, persons have the
liberty to select for any occupation irrespective of background.
The occupation based class scheme has now been distorted into
birth-based class scheme. People of different classes and
sub-classes live in Rajasthan.
Some major castes which found in Rajasthan are as follows:
Brahmins : Their main profession was worshipping and
presentation of holy rites.
Vaishya : Vaishya people usually adopted trade as their
source of income. currently they are settled down in every part of
the country.
Additionally, some farming castes also found in Rajasthan which
were completely depended on farming for their source of income,
Most common castes were Jat, Gurjar, Mali, etc.
Apart from farming casts some tribes are also reside in Rajasthan
and all of them have their own communal systems and traditions,
among all the tribes some common are Bhil, Meena, Garasia, Sansi,
Kanjar.
Rajasthan has a huge population of Meenas in Jaipur, Alwar,
Bharatpur, and Dholpur regions. Some other are The Meo and the
Banjara that basically known as traveling businessmen. The Gadia
Lohar, basically ironsmith who travels on bullock carts. After
meenas, next majority goes to The Bhils, who are residing in
Bhilwara, Chittaurgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara, Udaipur, and Sirohi
districts. Mewar region is full with Grasia and Kathodies. Kota
has majority of Sahariyas.
