Munnar in South India is located in the Western Ghats
in

the Eastern parts of Central Kerala and an adjoining part
of Tamilnadu. One of the most popular hill stations in India,
Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams
- Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. The former, mainly in
Devikulam Taluk of Idukki district, Kerala is usually known as
the Kanan Devan hills or the High Ranges.
Christ ChurchConsecrated in AD 1910, Christ Church was
built mainly for the managers and employees of the tea
estates. The English service was terminated in the year AD
1981. Now service is held in Tamil and Malayalam languages
every Sundays. During Christmas the celebrations conducted by
the Church are a great attraction.
Devikulam Lake Just a few kilometres from the main town
area it is the Devikulam Lake. The lake is an anglers paradise
and the ideal spot for some peaceful, relaxing moments. In the
middle of the lake is a quaint little island (but before you
venture to explore it you will have to take permission from
the concerned authorities).
Tea Gardens A visit to the tea gardens is highly
recommended if you have ever wondered what actually goes
behind the pleasure of your morning cuppa. Because here you
can witness the entire process of tea manufacturing, from the
plucking of tea leaves by nimble fingered workers, to the
drying, processing, cutting, sealing and packing of the final
product.
